1. Make your existing dental website search engine friendly<br />

This is probably the most practical and easiest step to do with your existing website so that you can get more recognized by Google and other search engines right away.<br />

If you already know the top keywords people are typing into Google, then you can put these keywords in a few key places on your website so that Google knows what exactly your website is about and who should be finding it.<br />
<br />
For example, lets say a man in Dallas Texas is having tooth pain and is ready to find the nearest dentist to his Dallas home. So he ends up typing into google.com the keyword phrase &#8220;dentist Dallas&#8221; or &#8220;dentist in Dallas&#8221;, which by the way get about 22,200 local searches per month! That’s why it’s so critical to know what people are searching for!<br />
<br />
Based on this keyword knowledge, you can then put these keywords in the title of your website and in the meta description for your website. You will also want to put this keyword phrase and other keywords in various content on your website. Once the content is created, make sure that you bold the keyword that you’re trying to highlight on that page so that Google sees how important it is.<br />

Next, make sure your website is easy for Google to find your content…<br />

2. Add a Google Sitemap to your existing website<br />
<br />
You will want to add a Google Sitemap to your website so that Google can find your content easily and quickly. Give Google what they want! An easy to crawl website is exactly what Google is looking for when their computers search the web. Now if you use a dentist website builder like WordPress, then it&#8217;s really easy to add a Google Sitemap to your page. 3. Create new content that focuses on your main keyword phrases.<br />

<p>Fuzzy math is always due to &#8220;fuzzy logic&#8221;. When it comes to <strong>Dental Practice Marketing</strong>, fuzzy math can be seen in several forms.</p>
<p>Here are a few good examples of &#8220;fuzzy Dental marketing math&#8221;:</p>
<p><strong>FUZZY Dental MATH PROBLEM #1:</strong><br />
Good search engine rankings PLUS a poorly equipped website EQUALS more new patients! WRONG.</p>
<p>This is based on the false logic of &#8220;wishful thinking.&#8221; Good search engine rankings will get you nothing but an ego boost without a powerfully equipped website that<br />
captures, follow&#8217;s up, and then delivers those visiting from a search engine, into your practice.</p>
<p>(Without  a fully equipped website, you might as well redirect your search engine traffic to your competitor&#8217;s website, because that&#8217;s where they&#8217;re going to end up.<br />

<p><strong> FUZZY Dental MATH PROBLEM #2:</strong><br />
Good Social Media PLUS a poorly equipped website EQUALS more new patients! WRONG.</p>
<p>Again, this is what I call living in a Dental marketing &#8220;fool&#8217;s paradise.&#8221; I&#8217;ve seen some really good Social Media being done lately. Posts, tweets, feeds, updates,<br />
friends, blah, blah, blah, etc…it all means absolutely nothing if you&#8217;re driving the traffic into the middle of the Sahara Desert!</p>
<p>&#8220;Saraha Desert&#8221; marketing, meaning, if you do all that Social Media work, but you have no capture and follow-up technology that gets the patient into your office, they might as well be getting directed into the desert because that&#8217;s how they feel when they land at your website-no offers, no capture, nothing that pops them in the nose and says &#8220;act now or you&#8217;ll lose&#8221;. Get it?</p>
<p><strong> FUZZY Dental MATH PROBLEM #3:</strong><br />
Nice, pretty website PLUS lots of information WILL EQUAL more visitors and patients! WRONG.</p>
<p>All this math problem produces is procrastinating prospects and patients that now have more to think about (as it relates to Dental) than they did when they first landed on your website!</p>
<p>Information is good but key information should only be exposed AFTER you capture the prospect&#8217;s contact information. Otherwise you are pushing them away from their<br />
first visit into your practice.</p>

<p>I believe if you make the changes to your dental websites that I am suggesting in this email and in the critiques,  you will double the amount of patients you are currently getting from your dentist site.</p>
<p>I believe the website (as it relates to practice building) is one of the most misunderstood areas of internet Dental marketing. It&#8217;s also one of the biggest mistakes that Dentists make regarding their online marketing.</p>
<p>It seems as though when some Dentists venture out to develop their website, they are tainted by marketing traditions that carry over from the popular world of &#8220;brand&#8221;marketing which in my opinion, doesn&#8217;t work well and is way too costly for local Dentists trying to get new patients.</p>
<p>Typically, brand marketing tactics and cliches such as these are the filters in which Dentists use (and many website companies) when developing their sites:</p>
<p>1. &#8220;Get your name out there…make sure it sticks in the customers mind…&#8221;(their site is then too &#8220;me or us&#8221; focused.)</p>
<p>2. &#8220;Give them lots of information, educate them, and then they&#8217;ll be more apt to make a smart decision…plus they&#8217;ll come back to your site more often for information.&#8221;(their site is loaded with too much information that &#8220;eases the prospects conscience&#8221; and causes them to &#8220;think&#8221; and procrastinate.)</p>
<p>3. &#8220;Catch their eye with a nice logo and imagery…then they&#8217;ll be drawn to come back to your website.&#8221;(this is appeals to our pride. of course we want a nice site, but not so over-emphasized that it squashes the marketing savvy of the site.)</p>
<p>4. &#8220;Have a good slogan&#8221;(something that sets you apart is good, but without a corresponding call to actionit&#8217;s worthless.)</p>
<p>5. &#8220;Give them lots of choices when they come to your site&#8221;(see &#8220;information&#8221; comment above.)</p>
<p>Many Dentists think the above points are too important. I can go on and on but you get the idea…the concepts above have an element of truth in them when it comes to your Dental website however, when they are &#8220;overemphasized&#8221; it destroys the marketing savvy of your website. Your website won&#8217;t build your practice via &#8220;brand&#8221; marketing but it will with &#8220;action&#8221; marketing.</p>

<p>If you want to get new patients from your Dental website, you must first understand these 3 critical truths about your website&#8217;s mission:</p>
<p>1. You&#8217;re not trying to get patients to join your website.</p>
<p>2. You&#8217;re not &#8220;treating&#8221; them at your website.</p>
<p>3. You don&#8217;t get paid when they go to your website.</p>
<p>YOU WANT TO GET PATIENTS &#8220;INTO&#8221; YOUR PRACTICE. IE, IN FRONT OF YOU.</p>

<p>Rather, many Dentist websites seemed geared to do everything to keep the web visitor at their website as if this built their practice.</p>
<p>Instead, it should appeal directly to their reason for visiting, get them to ACT (ie, capture their contact information), and then ultimately let them know that they must stop procrastinating and come into your office for treatment. Over-stocked, information packed websites that reveal everything to the visitor make procrastinating prospects and patients &#8220;think&#8221; rather than &#8220;act&#8221;. Give them information but only AFTER you&#8217;ve capture their information. Now you can begin the process of practice building.</p>
<p>Unless of course, you are selling a membership site, products, etc…then yes, have them stay at your site all day. Inform them. Make them think. Entertain them and &#8220;wow&#8221; them at your site. But if you are trying to get new patients, you MUST begin to rethink your website. It must become a &#8220;MARKETING SAVVY WEBSITE&#8221; that gets prospects to &#8220;act&#8221;.</p>
<p>Then, when all the search engine traffic, social media traffic, referral traffic, yellow page traffic, newspaper ad traffic, email marketing traffic, existing patient traffic visits your website, you will begin to see more and more appointments being made and your website/internet plan will begin to build your practice.<br />
